Dear MJCS family,                                        

• Our deepest condolences to PC 4 student Elijah Alvarez’s family. Elijah’s life was tragically taken away from us at the age of 15.  His brother was injured during the course of a violent crime that took place in Newark, NJ. MJCS has created a memorial to support Elijah’s family during this difficult time. • CACA “Year of the Rat” Gala is scheduled for March 7, 2020 from 6 pm to 11pm. Child care available. Ticket price is $70. Please stop by the administration desk to purchase.

• We have started receiving yearbook ads sponsors. Many thanks to those who reached out to business owners and professional for sponsorship.  Please continue to support MJCS by bringing more yearbook ads sponsors.  Sponsor form is as attached.

• Free Seminar - This Saturday, December 21 from 10:00am to 11:30am. Marlboro Learning Center will provide a free seminar to speak about the Importance of Reading and Writing. Our guest speaker, Charles Lin, has been devising academic programs and advising on college applications for over 10 years, and has helped students get into top colleges. • Discounted Ticket Sale for Vernon Light Festival: With special thanks to parent Cherrie Liu for the arrangement, MJCS PTO is selling discounted tickets to the Vernon Light Festival. The festival is from November 15 to February 2, 5pm-10pm. The price for an adult ticket is $19.99 (the price on their website is $19.99 plus $3.99 fee). The first 100 tickets purchased will get a complimentary child ticket ($18.51 value. Kids under 12 years old. One free ticket per household.) • Help support the school by purchasing ShopRite, Hmart and 99 Ranch Market gift cards at face value.  Gift cards make great gifts for teachers, friends and family! 5%-6% of all gift card sales will be donated to the school. Gift cards can be purchased in the lobby at drop-off or at the PTO table in the Cafetorium.

• Vendors will be selling lunch boxes in the Cafetorium lobby each week from 11:00am-12:30pm.Here are this week's vendors:

1. Domoko Sushi Ramen (teriyaki lunch boxes, noodles, ramen soup and sushi rolls)

2. Lin Palace: Taiwanese specialties, fried fish, soups, homemade Chinese sausages and fish balls

3. Lee Family: assorted lunch boxes

4. Happy Family: (assorted appetizers and lunch boxes)

5. Hsui Ling Kitchen : assorted lunch boxes and bubble tea

• 願我們實用中文班四年級學生Elijah Alverez 在天安息！Elijah不幸於12月10日遭16歲歹徒闖入其紐瓦克家中攻擊、被刺當場身亡。他的弟弟身受重傷，目前還在醫院中接受治療。Elijah 兄妹四人都是我們學校的學生，在震驚悲痛之餘，為協助其家人度過難關，我們成立了一個募款活動，希望大家發揮人飢己飢、人溺己溺、同體大悲的心情，給予Elijah Alvarez 的家人關愛與溫暖！捐款連結在此https://www.gofundme.com/f/memorial-fund-for-elijah-alvarez
