WEEK FOUR (PART II)

Dear MJCS family,

Welcome back! Hope you all had a well-rested and fun break!  

First of all, I would like to report to you that our students did a great job at the Confucius Memorial Ceremony on 9/29 at Princeton Chinese School. We are very proud of them! Pictures have been shared on the MJCS Facebook group and page. 

What’s new this week?

  • We will have a fire drill this Saturday at 11:00 am. Standard fire drill evacuation instructions will be sent out in a separate email. 

  • Class Picture Day for Group A (Chinese 101, and all Traditional Chinese classes) will be on 10/12. Group B will be on 10/19 (CSL3, All PC classes, and all Cantonese classes). 

  • Culture class registration deadline has been extended to 10/5 due to high demand. Please fill out the registration form attached to this newsletter and bring it to our administrator when school resumes. 

  • We are offering a new beginner Yoga class, instructed by Mary Pan. Tuition is $150 per year, $85 per semester. Class starts at 10am to 11am in the gymnasium. 

  • Please help us continue to support MJCS by reaching out to local businesses for more yearbook ads sponsors.  (Sponsor form is as attached.) 

  • CACA Annual BBQ will be held on Sunday 10/13 from 12pm to 6pam at Roosevelt Park, Edison. Adults are $15, while 12 and under are $10. There will be prizes for children and impromptu performances. Come for the games, biking, hiking, playground and more!

  • Interested in obtaining the Global Seal of Biliteracy? National Council of Associations of Chinese Language Schools will help you or your child to prepare for the proficiency assessment. Please check out the organization’ website for detail. website: ncacls.net

Here is some information from the MJCS PTO:

  • PTO Breakfast Sale is next Saturday, October 12th.  Please consider signing up to sell or donate your specialty dish.  Look out for a sign-up email coming soon.

  • Help support the school by purchasing ShopRite, Hmart and 99 Ranch Market gift cards at face value.  5%-6% of all gift card sales will be donated to the school. Gift cards can be purchased in the lobby at drop-off or at the PTO table in the Cafetorium.

  • Vendors will be selling lunch boxes in the Cafetorium lobby each week from 11:00am-12:30pm.  

Here are this week's vendors:

  • Domoko Sushi Ramen (teriyaki lunch boxes, noodles, ramen soup and sushi rolls)

  • Happy Family (assorted appetizers and lunch boxes)

首先，我要向大家報告的是，我們的學生在今年的祭孔典禮中，不管是國樂演出、弦樂演出、佾舞表演或是擔任義工等，都表現得很好！我們以這些孩子們為榮！照片已經在本校臉書團或臉書頁上分享。

這週有什麼新鮮事呢？

  • 例行消防演習將在本週六上午11時開始。消防研習指示另外以電子郵件送出。

  • 班級團體照拍照安排如下：10/12：團體A，包括中文基礎班101，以及所有傳統中文班班級。10/19：團體B，包括雙語3班，及所有實用中文班和所有粵語班。

  • 欲罷不能！文化課10/5繼續接受註冊。茲附上註冊單，您可以預先填好。10/5交給副教務。

  • 本校學生家長Mary Pan 特別來校開班教授初級瑜伽班。學費每年$150， 半年$85。上課時間是上午十點到十一點。歡迎報名。

  • 請大家繼續支持本校、募集更多商家在本校年刊上刊登廣告。（登記表如附件）

  • 中美文化協會年度重陽秋季文化節將於10/13週日下午12點到6點假愛迪生羅斯福公園舉行。票價，成人$15，12歲以下$10。

  • 您或您的孩子想要取得雙語認證證書嗎？全美中文學校聯合總會提供諮詢及協助服務。請上該單位官網瞭解詳情：ncacls.net

  • 家長會早餐義賣會是下週六， 十月十二日。請踴躍參與、捐贈您的拿手佳餚與大家分享！登記連結很快就會寄出，請留意您的電子郵件信箱。

  • 支持家長會。 請踴躍購買本家長會代售之超市禮卡！我們代售ShopRite、漢龍超市及大華超市等禮卡。每銷售一張禮卡，家長會將獲得百分之五到六的回扣、嘉惠學子！ 您可在接送孩子時，在前廳或大禮堂中向家長會義工購買。感謝大家對中文學校的愛護與支持。
