Week 26

Dear MJCS Families: 

This Saturday is our Mid-Term Exam.  Wish all the students will do their best!  A reminder to our parents, our Parent Teacher Conference will be starting at 11:30am until 12pm this Saturday.  

Please note 2016 FASCA enrollment will start and welcome qualified MJCS senior students (age 14-18) to apply. It's great opportunity for our senior students to earn volunteer hours!  Details please come to school cafeteria and contact David Chen.

Our yearbook sponsoring is opened!  If you need the sponsor form, please contact with school administration.  We hope to get as many as sponsors to support our yearbook.  If you know anybody is looking for posting their business advertisements, our yearbook is definitely a great place to be. 

Don’t forget to check out our school website under “Event” and “TECO” every week.  We always have new activities posting in the school website.

PTO News:

1. Shoprite and hMart Giftcards will be available for sale in the lower lobby at drop-off or at the PTO table in the cafeteria.    MJCS PTO receives 5% from each giftcard purchased.   Thank you for your continued support.
    
2. Class photos - Stop by the lower lobby or the PTO desk to pick up the orders that were previously placed.
    
3. Café Philo @ NJ is coming to East Brunswick, NJ.   After New York, Boston, Chicago and Pittsburg, NJ will be the fifth state to host Café Philo in the United States. Café Philo on Friday originated in Taiwan on August 13, 2010.  The goal of the organizers in NJ is to foster connections through building a common culture among local residents.  Thus, the reason Café Philo @NJ is bringing together young families through the discussion of health, family and education.
   
   This year, Café Philo @ NJ will host 4 speeches at MJCS:
   
   April 9, 2016: “Post-partum center: Is it a health necessity or culture luxury?” Chih-Sheng Chen, a Ph.D. candidate in Global Affairs at Rutgers University, will present his dissertation research about post-partum centers in the United States, Taiwan and China.  He will reveal what he has found of this cultural behavior in the global era, before his new book is released.
   
   April 23, 2016: Hsiu-Fen and Jenny Lin: My child is so mischievous, is that normal?
   May 7, 2016: Chi-Wei Lu: Mosquito season is coming, are you Zika ready?
   May 14, 2016: Celia Liu, Tiger Mom, to be or not to be?

   Café Philo @ NJ hopes to help parents learn, think and support each other while the children are learning Chinese. Furthermore, it will be the first step to establish a sense of Asian community. 3. Cafe Philo 於2010年8月13在台灣成立。目的是希望能夠為當地居民建立一個共同的文化交流。基於此目的，Cafe Philo 在紐澤西正在努力以坐談的方式從健康，家庭和教育方面把年輕的家庭聯絡起來。 今年Cafe Philo 已經在紐約，波士頓，芝加哥和匹茲堡舉辨了多場坐談會。 本週六開始，Cafe Philo 將在紐澤西，本校舉辦4場坐談會。 以下是坐談會時間和標題：
