January 14 is the last week of the Fall semester. The followings are this week’s highlights:
Cantonese speech contest is this Saturday. Congratulations to all the Cantonese speech contestants! The following are the winners:
Group A: 1st place winner: Caylee Chou. 2nd place winner: Antonia Harmann. 3rd place winner: Angela Harmann.
Group B: 1st place winner: Mikaylee Ho. 2nd place winner: Amanda Lam.
Group C: 1st place winner: Ariane Yu. 2nd place winner: Jeremy Huang. 3rd place winner: Zachary Ho. Group D: 1st place winner: Lucas Ho. 2nd place winner: Tyler Ho.
Our school’s Lunar New Year celebration is scheduled on 2/1. We will celebrate a little bit differently. Details are as attached. Please come to Administration to reserve seats.
CACA “Year of the Rat” Gala is scheduled on 3/7 from 6 pm to 11pm. Child care is available. Ticket price is $70. Please stop by the administration desk to purchase.

The following are news from the MJCS PTO:
· Free Seminar - This Saturday, January 11 from 10:30am to 11:30am. Marlboro Learning Center will provide a free seminar to speak about how to improve grades to get into a good college. Our guest speaker, Charles Lin, has been devising academic programs and advising on college applications for over 10 years, and has helped students get into top colleges. · The MJCS Chinese New Year Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020. The New Year celebration is the biggest event MJCS holds each year and we need parent volunteers to help make it a success. Please consider volunteering an hour or two of your time. Sign up for a time slot in the separate email that will be sent out shortly.
· Help support the school by purchasing ShopRite, Hmart and 99 Ranch Market gift cards at face value. 5%-6% of all gift card sales will be donated to the school. Gift cards can be purchased in the lobby at drop-off or at the PTO table in the Cafetorium.
· Vendors will be selling lunch boxes in the Cafetorium lobby each week from 11:00am-12:30pm.

o Bo Hai Dumplings: (assorted frozen dumplings and buns)
o Domoko Sushi Ramen: (teriyaki lunch boxes, noodles, ramen soup and sushi rolls)
